Young Reporter Competition
For many, lockdown has been a time to explore a new interest, exercise a new muscle. As part of the virtual Hurst Show and Country Fayre, we're inviting all Young Reporters up to age 18 in the local area to tell a heartwarming story or share positive experiences of life in lockdown.
Maybe during the pandemic you've made new friends through an act of kindness or been inspired to photograph the local wildlife. Perhaps you've learnt to do something you never knew you could achieve before or set out to complete a fitness challenge which has raised money for a good cause.
We'd love to hear about it! Please share your report in usual written form or as a poem, up to 400 words maximum, and you may be one of the lucky ones to see it published in our 2020 Souvenir Magazine as a forever memory, The Wokingham Paper and on the Hurst Show website.
Competition entries will be judged by Hurst's own local reporter, Sue Corcoran. There will be two categories, aged up to 11 and 12-18, with a winner from each chosen and announced during July. Feel free to include illustrations or photos.
Email your entries to email@example.com, as a typed document or as a photo or scan of handwriting / illustrations, by Friday 3rd July 2020. To be included in the competition, please provide your name, age, email address and the town where you live.
Please confirm in your email that you have your parent's / carer's permission to enter and give their telephone number.
